COP15

Each year, representatives for the countries, which have signed the UN climate treaty, gather at a Conference of the Parties (COP).

COP15 is the fifth UN climate conference and will be held in Copenhagen from the 7th to the 15th of December 2009. There are big expectations surrounding COP15, because this is the time, when the world’s countries will agree on a new international climate treaty, which will replace the current Kyoto Protocol.

At least 15.000 registered participants are expected to attend at the UN climate conference. The conference is therefore a good opportunity to place the Faroe Islands and Faroese environment and energy policies firmly on the map.
